Spare Parts(About this image)
It can only be imagined how much of an important role The Great Western Sugar Company had on the small eastern plains and front range towns in the early 1900’s. This massive factory ran for 4 months of the year, 24 hours a day. It pumped in 3 million gallons of water a day! The employee roster must have been huge, when you weigh these facts against the size of front range towns in the early 1900’s, these facilities would likely have been the center of the community.
It was amazing to find the purchase orders lying around and machine spare parts still on their shelves, it seems an abrupt end to such an important place to the small Colorado towns.
